Visit the new National Anzac Centre, Australia’s foremost museum for honouring the fallen troops of WWI. Be sure to take a walk to nearby the Desert Corps Memorial and Avenue of Honour. Enjoy lunch at the hilltop restaurant, with views over King George Sound. Drive out to Torndirrup National Park, taking in the newly upgraded scenic lookouts at The Gap and Natural Bridge. Discover the whaling history of WA at Discovery Bay, keeping an eye out for migrating humpback and Southern Right whales playing close to shore (June to September annually). Day 3 / Sunday: Explore the wineries and gourmet food suppliers along the Scotsdale and Mt Shadforth Tourist Drives near Denmark. Outdoor enthusiasts can take a drive to watch the para-gliders floating over the most southerly point of WA in West Cape Howe National Park, or take a dip or snorkel in the protected waters of Greens Pool. Always best to use a recognised campsite. These are of good quality with communal barbecue areas, kitchens, laundry, power and water supplies, some even have a swimming pool. There are some free sites around WA. It really isn’t a good idea to camp just anywhere, for one, the rangers will move you on and secondly, you are on holiday, be safe.
The auxiliary battery which powers the rear of the camper needs to be kept charged. We have fitted voltage indicators on all of our camper now for easy monitoring. Rule of thumb says if not plugged into mains and you have the fridge running and a few lights on the battery will last the night. You then need to either plug in or drive to recharge. Remember, this is the battery for the rear, it will not affect your engine starting.
Please refer to the overview page for inclusions.
For all of our camper and vehicles a normal driving licence is fine. If your licence is in a foreign language, get an international licence, this is inexpensive and saves time.
Campabout Oz is a WA company and whilst we will allow vehicles to travel pretty much anywhere on the mainland, please let us know if you intend to travel crazy distances. We had the best camping trip to Albany last weekend with the family. Our very first camping trip and cant wait for the next. Very clean and modern Caravan and friendly service. I highly recommend Campabout OZ.
You saved our holiday! Our original hire vehicle was very shabby inside and broke down on us 3 times just 30km from home. We were left stranded at the roadside and their assistance company just didn’t assist! We just about made it back home. You gave up your ‘spare’ vehicle for us and we cannot thank you enough for your kindness and going above and beyond. Your vehicles are immaculate and stocked with brand new essentials. We can set off now and have the trip we’ve been planning for months. Thank you doesn’t begin to cover how grateful we are
